Description
Dental practices in Austria already work under binding quality assurance: every five years they answer the self-evaluation questions, some of them are visited, and since 1 May 2025 the Dental Chamber's hygiene regulation has applied. Under Federal Law Gazette I No. 64/2026 the Federal Institute for Quality in Health Care (BIQG) takes over evaluation and inspection from 1 January 2028, paid fee notes go to the health insurer electronically from 2027 with the patient's consent, and practices with insurer contracts send diagnoses from 2028. On top come the implant register for dental implants placed from 1 September 2027, and the deadline for reprocessing (1 May 2028).
This course explains the duties in short lessons, with the paragraph for every statement. Every lesson has narrated slides, a checklist to tick off and a quiz question. It starts with quality assurance and ends with every deadline at a glance.
Who this course is for
- Dentists with their own practice or in a group practice

About this course
Written in Vienna as a free learning resource. The course follows the wording of the acts and regulations in RIS and of the Austrian Dental Chamber's regulations linked in every lesson, but hasn't been reviewed by an expert yet. Pointers to mistakes are very welcome: info@globalapps.top.
Not legal advice. What counts is the acts and regulations in the Federal Legal Information System and the Austrian Dental Chamber's regulations (read on 7 October 2026). The health minister's regulation with the criteria from 2028 (§ 9b(2) GQG) had not been issued on that day. Not covered are insurer contracts, billing, data protection in detail and the employer's duties under the Worker Protection Act in detail; there is a separate course on those at aschg.globalapps.top. Not an offer of the Austrian Dental Chamber, a regional dental chamber, the BIQG or the Chamber of Commerce.
